Katy Parrott

Filmaker/Medic

Katy is a Wildlife & Expedition Filmmaker based in Bristol, UK. She has a BSc in Biology and went on to complete a MA in Wildlife Filmmaking.

In May 2016, she was part of the first team to trek the length of the Bulgarian Rhodope Mountains, traversing over 400km of wilderness with 30kg of kit each. She gets no bigger kick out of life than when pushing her limits. Out of 1000’s of applicants she was selected as a ‘recruit’ for the BBC2 series Special Forces: Ultimate Hell Week (series 2) – which aired Jan - March '17.

At 5’3’’ and a former Deputy Head Girl, Katy is an unlikely ‘action woman’, but becoming a finalist in the series inspired her to join the Army Reserves as a Combat Medic. She has since deployed to Georgia, Armenia and Afghanistan.

Described as 'Tinkerbell crossed with a Terminator' Katy is also a tenacious and well-rounded adventure athlete. She is an Ambassador for Montane and is equally at home up a mountain or running a trail ultra marathon.
