A Voyage with a Twist:

Embarking on an expedition to the remote Kuril Island chain in far Eastern Russia, our quest was to weave a tale of adventure. However, the sudden fury of a volcanic eruption redirected our journey into unforeseen territories. Russian biologist Dr. Vladimir Burkanov, having lost his boat in the eruption, found refuge with our crew, enveloping us into his lifelong mission to unravel and shield the enchanting yet delicate Kuril ecosystem.

Exploration of the Inaccessible:

Situated in one of the world’s most unreachable volcanic island chains, “From Kurils with Love” paints the portrait of a true environmental sentinel and offers audiences a vivid expedition through visual ecstasy, the pandemonium of sea lions, and a whisper of hope for our planet.

Alliance for Preservation:

This film, a symphony of exploration and environmental love, is a collaboration with Tomorrow Unlocked and Kaspersky Labs. It delves into the struggle and passion of Vladimir Burkanov, whose words resonate with urgency and wisdom, “It’s only people who can either quickly destroy [the Kuril Islands] or protect it.”

Legacy and Hope:

Post the completion of the film, we were instrumental in establishing the Kuril Islands Research and Conservation Initiative, an accredited 501(c)3 non-profit organization, fostering research and conservation efforts. For those willing to contribute to this journey of preservation, please visit our ongoing campaign site Support the Kuril Islands Campaign.
